Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PodcastMy, which is presented on the web as PodcastMyX, collects, uses, and handles information when you use the iPhone app, the minute wallet, and the related support services that keep the live session running.
1. What we collect
PodcastMy collects only the categories of information needed to run the live voice experience, manage paid access, and support the features visible in the app.
- Account data. If you sign in, we process your phone number, authentication identifiers, and session tokens used for phone-based sign-in.
- Live session data. Microphone audio, live prompts, and session context are processed to power the real-time conversation and opening audio flow.
- Sensor data. If you connect a supported wearable, the app uses Bluetooth and heart-rate readings so the conversation can adapt to current effort and pacing.
- Settings and profile data. The app may store your selected language, topic tags, persona, preferred duration, running mode, saved name, birth date, and related on-device profile settings.
- Wallet and purchase data. We process minute balance information, usage session events, and App Store transaction data needed to verify purchases and debit live session usage.
- Optional local archives. If you enable local saving, the transcript and a local audio recording are saved on your device.
- Archived recap data. When a summary is generated, PodcastMy may process the archived transcript and, if available and small enough to attach, an audio sample from the saved recording.
2. How we use information
We use information to authenticate you, keep the live session connected, adapt the conversation to context you choose to provide, verify App Store purchases, meter minute usage, restore your in-app state, generate archived conversation summaries, and improve reliability, safety, and fraud prevention. We do not use biometric input to provide medical advice.
3. What stays on device
PodcastMy is designed so the saved memory layer of the product can remain local to your iPhone. Local profile state, discovered traits, selected tags, transcript archives, and optional local audio recordings may be kept on-device, and the app includes controls to clear local memory.
On supported devices, archived conversation summaries may also be generated with Apple's on-device model support, so those summaries can be created locally on the iPhone rather than sent out for recap generation. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable, PodcastMy may instead offer an optional cloud-generated summary after you choose that fallback in the app.
4. When information is shared with service providers
PodcastMy uses service providers to run core parts of the product.
- Firebase. Used for phone authentication and related account session handling.
- Google Gemini services. Used for the live AI session, the opening text-to-speech flow, and archived conversation summaries when on-device summarization is unavailable.
- Apple. Used for App Store purchases and purchase verification.
For live interviews, microphone audio and live conversation context are sent directly from the iPhone app to Google Gemini. If running mode is enabled with a connected wearable, intensity data is also sent to Google Gemini. PodcastMy's backend is used only to issue the temporary live session token and meter your purchased minutes for the session.
When you choose cloud summary fallback, the archived transcript and, if available and small enough to attach, an audio sample from the saved recording are encrypted in transit before being sent to PodcastMy's backend and Google Gemini to generate the recap.
We share information with these providers only as needed to operate the service, process purchases, prevent abuse, or comply with law.
5. Retention
Retention depends on the category of data. On-device information remains until you delete it, clear the app’s local data, remove the app, or complete in-app account deletion. Server-side wallet, usage, and account records are deleted when you delete your account, except to the extent we need to retain specific records for legal compliance, tax or accounting obligations, fraud prevention, security, or dispute handling.
6. Account deletion
You can initiate account deletion directly in the iPhone app at Settings > Account > Delete Account. That flow permanently deletes the active PodcastMy account, the minute wallet associated with that account, and the backend usage records tied to it. It also clears the saved profile, transcript archive, and local recordings on the device used to start the deletion request.
Deleting an account is permanent. Any unused minute balance tied to the deleted account cannot be restored. Apple and other third-party providers may retain records they control under their own terms, policies, or legal obligations.
7. Your choices
- You can disconnect Bluetooth wearables and deny Bluetooth access.
- You can deny microphone access, though the live interview will not work without it.
- You can leave optional local transcript and recording storage turned off.
- You can sign out or use in-app clear-data controls to remove local memory stored on the device without deleting the account.
8. Children
PodcastMy is not intended for children under 13, and it should not be used by anyone who is not allowed to consent to the collection and processing described here under applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Material changes should be reflected in the app listing or other product-facing notices.
